    Ms. Goff,

I was watching the discussion on AC360 a few moments ago. I appreciate your commentary and the opinions of Reverend Sharpton. However, I would like to add a few thoughts that I believe should be considered. The contributions of Rev. Jesse Jackson do not justify his actions or mistakes (for which he has since apologized). However, we as African-Americans and Americans in general should consider his role in the fight for civil rights and racial equality, before characterizing him as a hypocrite. Have you ever told a lie? If so, how many, one, two, more than that? Ok, so because you’ve told a few lies in your life and been caught, does that mean you should emphatically be referred to as a hypocrite. I understand that he has made some very serious mistakes, but haven’t we all? Consider the good he’s done. Might he have been involved in activities that helped make it possible for us to be in the positions that we are in today? We can acknowledge and denounce his actions, but let’s not forget or allow others to forget his positive contributions.

    Thanks,

    Zok
